About

Precision Infinity aims to be the premier software/web development consulting firm for highly customized web portals and applications.

We have heard great feedback from previous students in our Software Development Externship Program so we're going to continue the program as long as possible. We'd like to make this a great learning experience and opportunity for any students who are accepted into the program. In addition, successfully completing the program can be a gateway to further internships and employment with us.

Responsibilities

As a new Precision Extern, you will NOT be responsible for delivering anything to Precision (easy!). You will need to meet with us virtually or at our office occasionally and will be responsible for your own independent study of materials as guided by Precision for your own benefit.

You'll have a front-row seat engaging in industry-specific software and web dev practices with a professional developer. You'll learn and see the steps we take to solve real-world problems as an experienced developer walks you through whatever the task of the day is for them. We'll assess your current skills and give you recommended industry-specific guidance on what you should study.

Each externship will involve 3 sessions either virtual over zoom or at our office in Avalon Park, Orlando, FL.

These sessions may include the following:

  • Shadowing developers as they solve development tickets.
  • Determining your strengths and areas of opportunities to improve.
  • Working together through a coding challenge based on a past client project.
  • Online learning courses introducing software development industry best practices.
  • Personal mentoring and guidance on software development practices & tools

Topics covered can include:

  • Real-world Object-Oriented Programming and Design
  • Real-world C#/ASP.NET projects
  • Real-world Scrum and Agile Development processes

Each one-on-one session is only 1 hour, so your face to face (or virtual) meeting commitment is only 3 hours over a semester. Plus you'll be expected to commit to independent study time in between sessions.
